CARLSON FILLMORE・ 2025 MUSICAL THEATRE/JAZZ
Carlson Probst (Fillmore) was born to a family of dancers and began ballet, tumbling, and tap at the young age of 2 under the direction of her grandmother and aunt, who owned local studios. She continued and broadened her training at The Dance Club in her hometown of Orem, Utah. There, she trained in all styles, including contemporary, jazz, and hip-hop. Carlson graduated with honors from Orem High School where she was a member of their dance company and cheerleading squad. After 1 year in the ballet program at Utah Valley University, Carlson had the opportunity to move to Southern California to be the director of the children’s program at San Clemente Dance and Performing Arts. Upon moving back to Utah in 2015, she started training in Latin Ballroom with Rick Robinson and joined the pre-professional company “Expansion,” owned and directed by renowned choreographer Bonnie Story. Bonnie provided Carlson with her first professional work, hiring her for music videos and concerts for local music artists. Her favorite job with Bonnie was dancing in a Christmas Hallmark movie entitled “My Christmas Love”. In 2016, Carlson was chosen to be the principal dancer for a national ad for the makeup company Younique. She continued training, teaching, and dancing in local shows for the next couple of years. In 2018, she was thrilled to be chosen to be a member of the Utah Jazz Dancers. During her time with the Utah Jazz, she modeled for local companies, made many appearances for charities and sponsors, and danced for an audience of thousands for 44 home games, as well as backup for New Kids On The Block when they made their stop in Utah for their Mixtape Tour. Currently, Carlson continues her passion for helping young dancers reach their potential while raising her two young children with her husband. This will be her 9th year on the judges panel for Gotta Move Dance Competitions, her 13th year teaching, and her 1st year teaching at Creative Arts Academy.
